FIRE SUPPRESSION

The original duty of the fire protection district is to put out fires. Oswego averages more than 50 structure fires annually, meaning both multi-family and residential homes and businesses. This does not include car fires, heavy machinery fires, brush fires, or other outdoor type fires. Our firefighters train diligently on several types of fires to maintain peak performance when called upon. While we maintain most of our equipment on our own in order to keep the taxpayers from spending hard earned money, these tools and equipment get worn out and sometimes destroyed in the duties of firefighting. This bond will not only help keep our members of the fire department safe by providing protective gear, but it will also aid in repairs of current equipment to prevent the cost of complete replacement. Please reach out with any questions and we would be happy to answer them!
